The Jewish Seniors Alliance of British Columbia (JSABC) is a growing nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors age with dignity, connection, purpose and community.

We are seeking an organized, resourceful and experienced Development & Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director, this hands-on position will focus primarily on grant research and writing, funder reporting, fundraising support, event coordination and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Development & Reporting — Primary Focus
• Research and identify grant, foundation and government funding opportunities.
• Write compelling grant applications, proposals and letters of inquiry.
• Manage the grants calendar, deadlines and submission requirements.
• Coordinate information, budgets, outcomes and statistics needed for applications.
• Prepare interim and final funder reports and donor updates demonstrating how funds
were used and the impact achieved.
• Maintain strong relationships and follow-up with funders.
• Manage the donor thank-you program.

Fundraising & Community Engagement
• Coordinate and lead JSABC events, educational programs and fundraising activities.
• Support event promotion through email, social media, newsletters and community
outreach.
• Support donor research, major gifts, annual giving and fundraising campaigns.
• Prepare donor and funder briefing materials and stewardship communications.
• Build relationships with community organizations, seniors' groups, faith communities and
other partners.

Communications & Administration
• Develop promotional and fundraising content for traditional and electronic advertising.
• Gather stories, testimonials and impact information.
• Maintain organized grant, donor and development records.
• Provide administrative and project support to the Executive Director.

Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in development, fundraising or nonprofit
resource development.
• Strong experience in grant research, writing, proposal development and funder reporting.
• Excellent writing, research, editing and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, social media,
and marketing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
• Genuine interest in improving the lives of seniors and strengthening community.

Assets: Experience with nonprofit events, donor fundraising, CRM/database systems, email
marketing/social media, Canva, and foundation or government funding.

• You are a strong writer, curious researcher and proactive problem-solver who enjoys finding funding opportunities and turning ideas into compelling proposals.
• You are a team player who is willing to contribute meaningfully to fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. You also understand the importance of excellent reporting and stewardship, can manage multiple deadlines, and enjoy bringing people together to make projects and events happen.

Position Details
Hours: 35 hours/week
Location: Vancouver, BC — primarily in-office, with some flexibility
Reports to: Executive Director
Salary: Up to $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
