Israel Experiences

Discover Israel and world Jewry through immersive travel and local engagement

Strengthening our community’s connection to Israel is a central part of who we are. We believe every member of our community should have opportunities to connect with Israel, whether through a transformative journey abroad or a meaningful experience right here in British Columbia. Our role is to make those connections possible and accessible.

For those ready to experience Israel firsthand, we act as a gateway. We don't just provide information; we offer the financial support and guidance needed to help you travel, study, volunteer, or work through trusted, immersive programs.

Closer to home, we ensure that Israel is a constant, vibrant presence in BC life. Through peopletopeople connections, cultural celebrations, and shared stories, we bring the spirit of Israel directly to our schools and community spaces.

Together, these experiences help foster a resilient Jewish identity and a living connection to Israel that is felt both locally and globally.

Birthright Israel

Birthright Israel is a meaningful first journey to Israel for young Jewish adults. Jewish Canadians between the ages of 18 and 32 can participate in a free educational trip that explores Israel’s history, culture, and people. Each year, support from the Federation Annual Campaign helps open the door for teenagers and young adults from our community to take part in these life-changing experiences.

March of the Living

March of the Living brings thousands of Jewish youth from around the world together for a shared journey of remembrance, learning, and resilience. Participants mark Yom HaShoah in Poland and then travel to Israel to observe Yom HaZikaron and celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, deepening their connection to Jewish history and continuity.

“I thought it was an important trip for me to go on as a Jewish teen… one day soon there will be no survivors around and someone needs to be able to tell their stories.”

Financial Support for Israel Programs

We believe that every young adult in our community deserves the chance to experience Israel, regardless of their financial circumstances. A transformative journey should never be out of reach because of the price.

If you are looking to study, volunteer, or learn in Israel through an approved program, we are here to help make it a reality. Our need-based scholarships are designed to bridge the gap and ensure that the cost of travel is never a barrier to building your connection with our homeland.
