The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre presents the community wide Yom Hashoah commemorative program.

Yom HaShoah is the day on which Jewish communities world-wide mark and remember the Holocaust and the loss of the six million Jews who were murdered and the millions of other victims, including Roma & Sinti, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the mentally and physically disabled and political dissidents. In 2003, The House of Commons established Holocaust Memorial Day as an official day of commemoration in Canada. The day is also observed each year by the Legislature of the Province of British Columbia.
Local Holocaust survivors will honour the memory of those who perished, including their own family members in a moving candle lighting ceremony.

The program will also feature the Yom Hashoah Singers under the direction of Wendy Stuart.

Sponsor: VHEC, JCCGV, JFGV and the Province of BC.
