Direct from London, British songwriter, storyteller and broadcaster Daniel Cainer brings his unique collection of original songs and stories to Temple Sholom.
Warm, intelligent and deeply rooted in Jewish life, Daniel’s songs are about family, identity, memory, faith and the business of being human.
A veteran of 21 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and seven Off-Broadway runs at New York’s SoHo Playhouse, Daniel has taken his Jewish musical storytelling around the world, while his topical songs have also been regularly heard on BBC radio and television. His more contemplative songs are sung by cantors and rabbis in synagogues across North America, including our very own Temple Sholom.
“An extraordinary performer. At times heartbreakingly poignant, at other times laugh-out-loud funny. Utterly charming, highly recommended.” — Edinburgh Festivals Guide
“His Jewish songcraft is immaculate and his skill is unmatched. Nobody does it better.” — Dan Nichols
