The Jewish Museum & Archives of BC (JMABC) is delighted to introduce Creative Studio: Archives as Art, a new three-part workshop series that brings together the richness of our archival collections and the possibilities of creative expression.
Join us for the second workshop in the series, Curate Your Story: Shadow Boxes, on Sunday, January 31st, 1- 3 p.m. at the Isaac Waldman Library.
What is an Archive?
In this workshop, learn about the Jewish Museum and Archives and consider how to engage with your own stories.
Each participant will receive a framed box and is invited to bring personal textual material (letters you care about, photographs of family/cultural icons you relate to, etc.) and any small objects you may wish to include. We will provide all other art materials, including collage and archival materials.
Leave with a 3-D box art you can hang on your wall, reflecting your unique history.
Suggested for ages 12+
Snacks and tea provided, with an optional share time at the end.
Like this event? It's part of our three-part multimedia series. Come create original writing, curate your own shadow box, and create collage postcards inspired by our archival material. Sign up for one, two, or all three! (Note: each workshop must be purchased individually.)
