In honour of the anniversary of Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass), join the White Rock–South SurreyJewish community for a meaningful evening of remembrance and education, presented by the VancouverHolocaust Education Centre (VHEC).
This presentation explores the pivotal year 1938, a turning point in the lives of European Jews. Drawing froma remarkable series of letters in VHEC’s collection—written by a local Vancouverite visiting Jewish friends inVienna at the time—this program offers a firsthand account of the growing persecution of Jews followingthe Nazi Anschluss. Her letters provide a powerful, intimate glimpse into the realities faced by Austria’sJewish community in the months leading up to Kristallnacht.
