Hanukkah across British Columbia
4–12 December 2026
From its earliest days, Hanukkah has been a holiday of public light. Menorahs were placed in doorways and windows so their glow could reach everyone passing by.
Brighten BC carries that tradition across our province. Each year, we bring the festival into town squares, city halls and community spaces, so that Jewish life in British Columbia is celebrated openly and shared with all our neighbours.
At a time when many in our community have felt less secure being who they are, that light means more than ever.
Menorah lightings, community celebrations and cultural experiences will take place in Vancouver and in communities across BC. City halls and iconic buildings will glow blue and white for all to see.
Everyone is welcome. Find a celebration near you, bring your family and friends, and share in the light.

Together, we can turn individual celebrations into a visible, province-wide expression of Jewish life, pride and connection, and invite all British Columbians to share in the light.
